March student of the month is Emebet Nigusse who is eleven years old and a second grader at Fitawariri Abaynehe Metekya Primary School.
Emebet has two older brothers, one a beneficiary at the Read & Feed program and the other supports the family working as day laborer. She has also a younger sister who participates at Read & Feed center. They all live with their mother who supports her family through preparing and selling ‘Areke’ (Ethiopian local brandy).
She loves Maths and English and wants to be a doctor so that she could save lives. Emebet loves helping her mother in the house, she washes her clothes, wash the dish, prepares coffee, sometimes bakes ‘injera’ and she also cleans the house.
